Community School Class Offerings

Cornerstone Academic: 

 
A New Cornerstone Academic SAT Preparation Course is being offered through the Collins Hill Community School!
 
*Collins Hill Community School has partnered with Cornerstone Academic to offer all students a chance to take SAT Prep classes for the New SAT. This course enables students to take the challenging New SAT with confidence!
 
New SAT Preparation Courses
The following SAT Prep courses are offered at Collins Hill High School.
-Course runs  April 17 - May 3, 2018 (to prepare for the May/June SATs)
-Class dates will be April 17, 19, 24, 26, May 1, 3, 2018 from 4pm - 7pm in room 1.381 @ Collins Hill High School 
-This Special 18 hour course is just $250.00 for CHHS students!

Driver's Education:
 
Information and schedule is posted on the right hand side of this page for the current and upcoming Driver's Education classes.  Click on the month in which you would like to take the class. Complete all information on the contract and attach a valid copy of your permit and bring to the Community School Office with your payment of $345 in full to secure your spot as space is limited.
 
 
 
Yoga:  
 
Learn to relax the mind and spirit while creating a stronger, leaner, and more flexible body. Current class schedules can be found on the right hand side of this page. Please fill out a registration form located on the right hand side of this page and bring it along with your payment of $48 per 6 week session to the Community School Office during business hours.
*Please note that individual and partial classes are NOT available.
 
 
2018 PERSONAL FITNESS AND HEALTH SUMMER SCHOOL OPTION: 
 
REGISTRATION ENDS MAY 3, 2018. *HOWEVER, REGISTRATION FORM AND PAYMENT IN FULL MUST BE PROVIDED TO CHHS BY MARCH 1, 2018 FOR GUARANTEED ELECTIVE PLACEMENT. 
 
Personal Fitness and Health are offered through the Community School of most Gwinnett County High Schools. Collins Hill classes will be May 29 - June 25, 2018. The price is $250.00 per course.
 
Classes are offered to students who are taking these subjects for the first time only. Students are allowed only two absences during Summer School and all Gwinnett County High School rules and disciplinary procedures apply. Students may take no more than two classes in Summer School and must provide their own transportation. Time for lunch is provided between the morning and afternoon classes, but students will need to bring their own lunch each day. NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS. Students will receive .5 credit for each course successfully completed, passed, and paid in full. Registation forms may be picked up at the Collins Hill Community School Office during business hours.

Defensive Driving Classes:   *Sponsored by the National Safety Council
 
Various Gwinnett County Community School's will offer Defensive Driving Classes over the course of the summer months. Please see the flyer to the right of this page for more details. 
 
 
 
Credit Recovery:   June 11, 2018  to  June 21, 2018 (Monday thru Thursdays ONLY)
 
Available for students who have unsuccessfully completed a core subject course with a grade in the range of 60 - 69%. Registration forms are located in the Counseling, Academic Support, A-K and the Community School Offices. *Note: Students may register and attempt to recover credit for up to two subjects during this session only.
 
Courses Offered:
Language Arts: 1st and 2nd semester of 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade
Social Studies:  1st and 2nd semester of World History, US History,
                         Political Systems, and Economics
Science: 1st and 2nd semester of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Environmental Science
Math: 1st and 2nd semester of Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Precal 
 
Dates:  June 11 - 21, 2018 (Monday through Thurdays only)
AM Session Class Time:  8:30am  to  11:30am
PM Session Class Time:  12:30pm  to  3:30pm
Cost:  $100.00 per session (additional charge of $5.00 if paying with Visa or Mastercard)
 
*REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER JUNE 5, 2018 ....NO EXCEPTIONS!!

 *Collins Hill Community School accepts payments in the form of cash, check, money order, and credit card ( Visa or Master Card only).  An additional processing fee of $5.00 will be charged if paying with a credit card.  **Cash and credit card must be processed in person at the Community School Office during business hours in order to receive a receipt.
